At this difficult time, we all are faced to the COVID-19 pandemic, two Chinese members of SIFFER - the Institute of Plasma Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP) and the Southwestern Institute of Physics (SWIP)-  have shown a wonderful gesture of solidarity beyond scientific aspect in sending surgical masks to the Institute for Magnetic Fusion Research of CEA .

10500 masks donated by ASIPP and 20000 by SWIP, were timely delivered to the CEA-Cadarache Center when France is suffering from the rapid spread of virus and the lack of masks.

CEA has immediately transferred these masks to Agence Régionale de Santé PACA for dispatching them to regional hospitals for protecting their staffs who are currently on the front line to save lives, and patients.

Director of CEA Cadarache Center, Jacques VAYRON, stated in his acknowledge letter to the generous donators:

"I would like to sincerely thank you and your team for helping in this difficult context of the COVID-19 pandemic" ... "The masks were delivered to hospitals in our region in order to protect staff and patients."

Deputy Director General of ASIPP, Prof. Yuntao SONG, said: "Under SIFFER, we are one fusion family. It is our great pleasure to do something for our partner in France. I'm so glad to hear that the masks helped protecting the staff and patients in local hospitals."
