A Workshop on the Cryogenic Technology, organized by ASIPP, was held in Hefei from 2_3 Feb. 2018. As the first thematic technical exchange, the workshop was attended by more than 30 experts from ASIPP, Air Liquid, SWIP, IRFM and ITER.
The opening report was made by Yuntao SONG, the deputy director of ASIPP. He presented the research and progress that ASIPP has made in Fusion science and technology, with the emphasis on cryogenic technology application in EAST, ITER procurement package and CFETR design. Then Pierre CRESPI's presentation demonstrated several typical cases of large cryogenic system development in Air Liquide.
The participants have discussed the cryogenic technical issues in the research on key systems of CFETR and fusion reactor.
It's expected that further technical exchange and more cooperation projects be realized in the field of cryogenic technology between the Chinese and French organizations. Fusion-relevant projects will obviously be of relevance for SIFFER.
CEA is a French government-funded technological research organisation in four main areas: low-carbon energies, defense and security, information technologies and health technologies. A prominent player in the European Research Area, it is involved in setting up collaborative projects with many partners around the world.
